The genesis of the Company can be traced to 1908 and 1920 when two UK based companies, The Norwich Union Fire Insurance Society and the Legal & General Insurance Company Limited, respectively, commenced business in Kenya. These two companies were to amalgamate their operations in 1976 to form The Heritage Insurance Company Limited which was later in 1997 to take over the operations of another company, African International Insurances (AII) Limited to become the now well known The Heritage AII Insurance Company Limited (The Heritage AII).
