Old Mutual Women's Seminar is here…
Old Mutual Investment Services will be having a Women’s Seminar on the 24th September 2009 at Panafric Hotel from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM with the theme ‘Empowering the 21st Century Female Investor’.
We encourage all female investors to attend the seminar as there will be a lot in store for you!
Additionally, we shall offer the attendees’ tips on Nutrition to ensure clients live a healthy life as they work towards securing their financial future. This will be the inaugural Seminar of this kind for a specific group of investors at Old Mutual and we intend to have regular seminars of this kind going forward.

Rose Nyaboke Ogega MBS
Rose is a founder and Managing Director of Bloom Consultancy Limited. She is a qualified accountant practicing as an end to end value addition management consultant. Rose has extensive experience advising and managing both large, complex organizations and emerging startup ventures.
Her work as a management consultant, entrepreneur, accountant, corporate governance specialist, non executive director and public official has centered on helping organizations and individuals deal with the challenges and opportunities of unprecedented changes in their operating environment. She is currently the chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory board, an institution that has been tasked by the Government of Kenya, to empower women to create wealth.
In addition she is a non-executive director of the following companies:
* Barclays Bank of Kenya * Old Mutual Life Assurance Company * Old Mutual Investment Services * Old Mutual Asset Management Company
Rose is credited to have been the first female chair of The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) a position that gave her the opportunity to increase the women visibility in the accountancy profession, changed the accountancy image and encouraged many young girls to join accountancy.
Rose has been awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S) by the President of Kenya in recognition of her role in national development. She was also the EVE’s professional woman of the year, 2004
Rose who holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi, is a certified Director, a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (FCPAK), a Fellow of the African Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network .
Carol Musyoka
Carol Musyoka has over 10 years of financial leadership and legal experience working in Kenya and the United states. Carol was previously Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of K-Rep Bank, Kenya’s first microfinance institution, where she also sat on the board of directors.
Prior to this, she was a board member and Corporate Director of Barclays Bank Kenya.
Carol has also worked at Citibank Kenya, where she was a Corporate Manager, responsible for the public sector and multinational clients.
She began her financial services career at Modern Africa Fund, an OPIC sponsored equity fund investing in sub-Saharan Africa and based in Washington DC. Carol has also been an associate at Oraro and Company Advocates, a leading law firm in Nairobi.
During Carol’s broad-based career, she has provided oversight on corporate and retail banking, human resources, banking operations, credit risk, information technology, finance and business development. Carol possesses extensive experience in strategic planning, multicurrency balance sheet management and maximizing shareholder value through stringent management of return on invested capital.
She has driven organizational performance by instituting quantifiable performance metrics and delivering superior financial results.
Carol has extensive deal-origination, negotiation, structuring and execution experience, having been involved in several landmark corporate finance transactions in Kenya. She also has considerable credit risk and treasury experience over her banking career, having received rigorous training at both Barclays and Citibank. Her legal experience includes drafting the regulatory framework for unit trusts in Kenya as well as numerous commercial contracts.
Carol provides consulting services for various organizations including Chicago based ShoreCap Exchange, the Kenya Institute of Bankers and the African Institute of Bankers.
She is also a non-executive director on the boards of Transcentury Ltd, a Kenyan based Pan-African conglomerate, Enablis EA which is a CIDA sponsored entrepreneur network, Wedco Investment Trust, a holding trust for Microfinance Institutions in Kenya and Zambia, the Institute for Economic Affairs which is an economic think tank and the Africa Legal Support Facility, an African Development Bank sponsored fund.
Carol received her Master of Law degree from Cornell University, USA and holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nairobi. |
